Big City Cops is a Facebook page where police officers can visit to exercise their First Amendment rights, while voicing their violent frustrations against a society that is quickly losing respect and trust for all police officers. Their logo is a skull and crossbones and their motto is, Oderint dum metuant.
Which translates to…LET THEM HATE, SO LONG AS THEY FEAR.
How fitting from a bunch of people who swore an oath to uphold the Constitution.
You’d think that the good cops (Hello…are you out there?) in this country would be tired of this behavior and would finally speak out and help rip the badges of the chests of bad cops. Because we all know that it’s not the good cops, but the criminal cops and the silent cops who are creating a massive divide between the public and law enforcement.
In today’s society, a rogue cop is no longer the cop who violently assaults a handcuff individual, but rather the officer who blows the whistle on his fellow officers who are breaking the law and violating our civil rights. This type of cop does not exist on Big City Cops.

They are harassing people at their homes with uninvited phone calls and posting hate speech on their Facebook website under the pretense of First Amendment Rights. i am a retired cop from a big city and was a friend of the facebook page bigcitycops. when one of the many moderators posted pictures of people (booking photos of crying women or old hippy types) and elicited comments, most of them had nothing but derogatory remarks and made fun of them, so i criticized them for their lack compassion or understanding of history. eventually, thru their posts, i learned they were mostly callus heartless pigs. they also regularly criticize and propose vague threats of physical harm to President Obama. i have reported their threats to the secret service.
as a result of my challenging their attitudes, they threatened to disclose my civil service personnal file, claiming they had the ability to access them, they gave a veiled threat to have me shot. eventually i was banned from their site.
this group of a-holes are to be feared. they are renegade, coward, outlaws hiding behind their badge and they feed off of their own ignorance. they are not to be trusted and should be banned from the profession.
there is no doubt in my mind that they are every bit deserving of their bad press. they believe they are above the law and constitution, they understand that they can sneak their street justice in and protect each other when discovered, that the ends justify the means and there are no limits to the evil they will shower upon an unsuspecting public.
anyone associated with this group should be suspect. … and beware, they also have a closed group facebook page, where you have to prove you are “one of them” before you are allowed in. this is a very dangerous trend and hopefully is fully monitored by the feds.
they copied my facebook page with me and my wife and then posted it on their site, thereby alerting “one of them” to “set me straight” if contacted. they are a criminal group and they are organizing into something THAT SHOULD BE FEARED. dont you see? they are so brazen that they even warn you in their logo!

I was once in New York City and actually saw cops selling dope from the police car! I think we should protect our children from them!
i went on to their page because they had posted the photo, name and address of someone i know on facebook. when i asked them why they did this considering such cowardly behavior could only serve to terrorize wives and kids. they them mocked the time i spent after 9/11 working next to ground zero on the clean up . they are cowards and the sad thing is they are doing this on our tax dollars. they attacked me left and right and managed to find the only photo in my facebook albums i accidentily left public of me in the hospital hooked up to monitors for a sleep apnea test and posated it all over their page. i have repeatedly reported them to facebook over their hate speech and kkk type postings but facebook still lets them do it. although i think that soon might all end.

officer tx and especially paul caligan here is an example of as you say “cops have the power” . about 2 yrs ago i was driving out of a 7/11 and i noticed a young girl around 17 yrs old crying and looking upset. i drove up to her where she was clearly hysterical and i asked her if i could get help for her. she was scared and said no. just then i noticed on the other side of the parking lot a car with a muscled up goon inside watching me. i drove about 2 blocks where i came across a cop who had just pulled a truck over for a bad tail light. i got out of my car and said there is a girl that needs help back there. he told me to get back in my car as he took his sweet time filling out the ticket. precious minutes passed until a woman in another car pulled up behind me and got out yelling ” help there is a guy kidnapping a girl” . turns out the goon was beating her senseless as he dragged her into his car and took off. even then the cop didnt seem concerned . i called my friend who is a detective in that town and he told me if i didnt get the plate number then she is gone. protect and serve . i wonder what that girl thinks of those words . that is if she is still alive
For several yrs I was a member of BCC’s FB page. They even published some of my stories. But when I questioned if they had their facts straight on certain incidents they harpooned me with hate. The follow-up comments from their mindless minions sickened me. Like jackals they love to brutalize those they purport to ‘protect’. Guess what, it isn’t your job to protect me or other citizens. A FB friend who counts a long history of big city cops and SF in her family was shamelessly lambasted by BCC to the point that she tearfully wondered what she had done wrong. I don’t fear these jackasses. In fact, I should hope I meet them on the street. Big city toughs on the internet. Pussies on the street.
Around the 3rd quarter of 2013 the BCC page was ‘of the air’ on FB. Among others, I was glad to see them back. But readily apparent was a shift in the admin of the page. It used to be about 5 admins whereas now it seemed one guy. That guy was 5150 with a badge.
I believe you may be talking about me or the previous admin. What spefically are you referring to 5150. I only posted obscure crime stories. Essex co. Land Rover car jacking/ homicide, they have around 450 a year…very few concenceal carry because the laws are so stringent. Yearly around 28,000 car jackings national (FBI crime states). I document.
Rogue, I wonder if we are talking of two different FB pages. The BCC page I am talking of had mostly been concerned with the Los Angeles area. That page had shown a marked difference of ‘before’ and ‘after’ a hiatus from FB. I think they were ‘off the air’ for almost one year. When they came back it seemed there was only one admin. That guy was crazy with power and did assault (plausible threat of violence against another) anyone who even questioned him. Before I blocked that page I saw how he treated others who had done nothing but to question some of what he said. Their questions were not derogatory or overly critical. Yet for that, those persons were lambasted and harassed. The BCC admin then made it a personal attack on that person even making insulting and lewd comments about that person and their family.
The FB friend I had mentioned previously had politely asked that BCC tone down the language and rhetoric.. For that BCC made her the subject of intense ridicule and more. She and others didn’t deserve the vile hurled at them by BCC. Of course not yet mentioned is how so many other members would then dog pile to join in the viscous personal attacks.

My comment was based on most of how BCC had conducted itself before their hiatus from BCC. Sure, even then they were rough around the edges and sometimes I was appalled by their comments but all in all they seemed to be in support of something good.
That all changed once they returned from their hiatus. It seemed gone were the 5 or six different admins and now there was just one (or maybe he was the most prolific or he dominated the others or they just kept quiet…) but he really irked a bunch of people. When he went on his tirade about how BCC was losing members he seemed to blame everyone but his own writings as he lashed out at everyone. I needn’t continue but I’ll say I am glad they are gone because of how awful they became.
