“I think we are seeing a resurgence of people doing things like knitting, sewing, and painting. I believe we’ll see a resurgence of people using film to do their art photography as well.”

I couldn’t put it better than that whenever people ask me what’s the future with film photography. Photographing, documenting life, and blogging your views and opinion is a superb workflow. Keep up these good work guys Alex, Gary and the bunch.

It’s all very recognizable to me as I’ve been doing street photography for years, and the style has indeed pervaded everything else I do in photography. I hope -and trust- that both film and true Winogrand-style black&white 35mm street photography will be around for a very long time.

Gary Gumanow is a talent to be reckoned with and shares the “real deal” on everyday street photography.

Although it’s no easy feat getting shots that work on the street, Gary always manages to pull it off. If you view his photostream, you’ll find that he manages to dive right into the core of each of his subjects. This article is as generously direct and forthcoming as is the actual man and should be read by both the novice and seasoned street photographer—there’s something here for everyone.
